So special to have aged Ontario wine to share! A fruit forward, earthy red blend inspired by Burgundy and made from just round the bend. 16 Mile Cellar is a small, family owned winery founded in 2010 at the foot of the 20 Mile Bench, near the town of Jordan. With their wines they work to showcase the rich soil of the Niagara Escarpment, portraying everything from the climate, to the glacial deposits of the ancient Lake. The savoury pinot noir (75%) was aged in French oak for 14 months, and blended with pretty and fruity gamay (25%) for a balanced match up and a nod to winemaker Morgan Juniper’s love for Burgundy’s Passetoutgrains blends of the same grapes. Mulch, green pepper, light tobacco & bright cranberry meeting fleshy blackberry. Enjoy any Monday night in the near or distant future while eating dinner over the sink, sometimes so satisfying!
