Trebbiano, Abruzzo, Italy 

An intensely flavoured, wonderfully aromatic orange from the head of the freak-dom, Lammidia! This Abruzzo-based natural wine project was started by childhood friends who met when they were just three years old (cute!). Davide Gentile and Marco Giuliani are now known worldwide for their embrace of the oddly mouthwatering. Low intervention is the only game they know with no tilling in the vineyards, no fining or filtration and absolutely no sulphur additions at any point in fermentation. The 100% tropically-leaning, citric spurting trebbiano was hand destemmed and left for one week on its skins to collect structure and power before transferring to amphora to smooth and settle. Ripe apricot meets underripe ataulfo mango (aprigo? manicot?), salted pineapple, saffron stains, nutmeg pinch & a swathe of interlaced Mediterranean herbs. Enjoy with savoury rice pudding.
