'Cotes du Jura White'

Chardonnay, Jura, France

A generous, nutty and intensely concentrated Jura white. Attention all, from one of the oldest domaines in Jura (try 1475!), Bourdy has been owned by the same family for 15 generations in the village of Arlay. Certified biodynamic in 2006, the family uses old barrels (up to 80 years!), encourages flor growth, and is known for their dedication to holding back and aging their lineup to the delight of all, near and far. FUN FACT! They’re still selling bottles from the 1800s! From 30-40 year old vines on clay, limestone and blue marl, the grapes are direct pressed, aged for 36-48 months in old oak and left unfined and unfiltered for a fullness of character and tactility. Sherry-esque flor complexities, roasted chestnuts on a side street in Rome, baked golden apples, briny minerality, the sesame cake at Sakai bar & pear flowers. The importer recommends you open several hours before serving and we say maybe alongside a whopping plate of escargot.
