Education Hour Soil Series: Limestone
Thursday, March 12th, 7-8:30 PM
Wine starts in the soil, so put on your geologist's hat and let’s get our hands dirty as we explore a different way to connect and deepen our relationship with wine! Kicking off the first of our two-part Education Hour series on soil is perhaps the most famous vineyard soil of them all. Limestone is synonymous with chiseled elegance, linear length, and some of the most celebrated wine regions around the world. In this session, we’ll explore these sedimentary rocks through coveted natural wines from Burgundy, Piemonte, & Loire, PLUS some unexpected pals! From white limestone, to chalky caves, to compressed sea life, let’s spend some time in the lime-light exploring the threads between place and the textural elements that unite these wines in the glass.
This session will be taught by GW Education Lead & passionate dirt-lover Brittany O'Rourke. As always, come with your questions & hot takes!
All event tickets are non refundable.
