A highly aromatic Austrian gew backed by umami and tuberous spice. Winemakers Stephanie & Eduard Tscheppe are adored by wine lovers across the world, known for their commitment to biodynamics and unfaltering pursuit of land expression. For the first time in Ontario, meet one of the few single grape wines Gut Oggau produces, Emmeram! From 40-year-old, low-yielding (think less than two tons per hectare) gewürztraminer vines planted on limestone and sand. Two thirds of the grapes are destemmed and pressed directly into neutral barrels to ferment, while the other third is fermented on skins for several weeks to add dimension, texture and push aromatics even further than you’d think possible. Gardenia garden, dry as a bag o’ bones, pine mushroom, ginger greens, gooseberry marmalade, salty rocks & Hawaiian wildflower honey. Drink alongside the widely controversial staple, the almighty tuna melt!
