'En Chenin'

Chenin Blanc, Anjou, Loire Valley, France

A quintessential chenin blanc that is truly of the landscape. Fifth generation winemakers Vincent and Emmanuel Ogereau are deeply connected to the land of Anjou as well as its great grape hope, chenin blanc. They say, “we have been transmitting the love of the profession, the precision of gestures, listening to the vines, shaping our idea of wine and the desire to always build our know-how”. Organically grown on various schists from the village of Saint Lambert, nestled in the crux of the Layon hillsides. FUN FACT! The vineyards are sowed with oats, rye, phacelia, mustard and clover to promote diversity! Between harvesting only fully ripened fruit, partial malolactic fermentation, and lees aging, the body of this chenin is plush and lusty as a skinny dip in July! Apple blossom, granny smith puree, lime tree, rich structure balanced by scratches of bitterness, a dash of salt & dressed with a lemon wedge. Enjoy with prawns and a Niçoise Salad.
