Tempranillo, Grenache & Carignan, Rioja, Spain

An earthy, tart and gently spiced red Rioja. Third generation winemakers, sisters Clara and Patricias Espinosa, operate their small family winery in Rioja that has been operational for over 100 years! The organic and sustainably grown grapes are entirely their own, planted by Patricias and Clara’s grandparents, and brought up to low-intervention standards to better express the terroir and regional grapes. A blend of sumptuous, savoury tempranillo (80%), spiced garnacha (10%) & crunchy mazuelo (or carignan 10%), all destemmed and fermented for 10-15 days to pull juicy structure. FUN FACT! Tempranillo is the most important grape in the traditional making of red Rioja! Tart red raspberry, underripe cherries, spicy sprinkle, scoop of dirt, someone exhaling a cigar round the corner & a green, leafy accent. Pour alongside meals where legumes are the star – beans, lentils, peas or chickpeas, this reds got your back!
