A textural hybrid red made in the image of a traditional Venetian ripasso or amarone. It is with beaming hearts that we welcome one of the most rich, unique and intriguing projects in all of North America, La Garagista! Owner and winemaker Deirdre Heekin oversees her thriving kingdom with an affinity for hybrid grapes, local fruits & an unfailing respect for the bond between humans and nature. FUN FACT! Loups Garoux is the French name for mythical wolf creatures that are NOT cursed, but blessed with the ability to turn canine at will! This ‘Loups Garoux’ is grown on an old sea bed featuring chunky grey, black, yellow, and brown clays with limestone, which is also home to wild purple aster, daisy fleabane, goldenrod, and wild mint. #botanyforeveryone! After aging for two years in old French barrels, we are brought dried herb stems, game smoking shed, rock tumbler minerality, jumping into fall leaves, blackcurrant jam & rum raisin cake. Enjoy with duck each and every way you can think of!
