'Chacha'

Chasselas & Chardonnay, Itata, Chile

A textured, aromatic and balanced skin-contact white blend, toeing the line of (freaky!) perfection. Since 2016, legends in the making Macarena del Rio and Thomas Parayre have been the winemaking couple behind Macatho, roosting in the ancient southern Chilean region of Itata. With abundant sunshine, strong Pacific coastal influences and dry conditions due to the Andes to the east, not to mention their deft winemaking hands, it’s no wonder these wines are noted among so many wine professionals and lovers alike. ‘Chacha’ is born of 70-year-old chasselas and young vine chardonnay from the organically farmed Cerro Negro vineyard, situated 70 meters above sea level and 60 km away from the Pacific ocean. The soils are a mix of basalts with a loamy texture. The grapes macerate gently on their skins - 30 days for the Chardonnay, a cool 20 for the Chasselas. Waking up, honeycomb, calm florals, mineral superposition, licking grass, used zester & clover blossoms. Enjoy while watching olympic reruns on your IG discovery page #Paris2024.
