Montepulciano & Moscato, Abruzzo, Italy 

An aromatic, featherlight and positively delicious orange/pink/red (#whoknows! #whocares!) from our Freaky Five faves, Lammidia. Lammidia, an icon winery and the Abruzzese word for the charm used to ward off the evil eye, is a well respected zero-zero winery followed with zeal by the wild, etherial and adventurous. Started in 2010 by childhood friends Davide Gentile & Marco Giuliani, they’re low-intervention all the way with no tilling in the vineyards, biodynamic practices & absolutely NO fining or filtration. A 50/50 blend of direct pressed, richly red-fruited montepulciano, and musky, citric moscato left on skins overnight for aromatic heft, and aged in amphora to catch the heartbeat of the Earth in its paw. Pink limeade, orange blossom water, preserved peaches & raspberry sherbet. Enjoy with honey-butter crepes and a dance about the messy kitchen.
