Ribolla Gialla, Primorje, Slovenia 

A plushy, aromatic & divinely complex orange wine from Slovenian masters. The familial team at Movia believe that, “wine is the second most important drink that a person consumes”, we second that! Also, is number one water? A mother’s milk? We have follow up questions!!! Anyways, with an impressive history dating back to the early 18th century, today the estate extends over 30 organically certified hectares, spread across both the famed Slovenian, Goriska Brda region, and the equally revered Italian side, Collio. FUN FACT! Rebula is the local name for the ribolla gialla grape, which many oenologists believe actually originated in Slovenia, where it’s been grown since the 13th century! For this cuvée, 66 year old vines’ unbelievably concentrated grapes are hand harvested as late as possible, and aged on lees for 18 months building a fortress of texture and aromatics. Wildflower honey, miniature orange tree, an assortment of candied tropical fruit, a waxy, lanolin grip, toasted almond & foamy, tide pool minerals. Try with crab fried rice!
