'Rosa Trilli’

Sangiovese, Lazio, Italy

A light and nourishing red that craves a salty hand. Gazzetta is a passion project founded in 2018 after winemaker Trish Nelson earned a degree in sustainable agriculture, and found work with some natural Italian wine giants (Cantina Giardino & Le Coste!) to deepen her know-how. Today Trish works organically, using herbal teas made from local plants (think stinging nettle, dandelion, willow & chamomile) to maintain health and resilience, while focusing on biodiversity and poly-cultural cultivation. FUN FACT! The nearby Lake Bolsena is one of Europe’s largest volcanic lakes, with the surrounding area combining evocative volcanic soils and a microclimate nuanced by the heating and cooling of this large body of water! The puckering, herbaceous sangiovese sits overlooking the medieval town of Orvieto, sprouting from clay and limestone on an old sea bed littered with shells and fossils. Three days on skins brings a featherlight mouthfeel, glazed in haze, with mineral brushstrokes, leafy wild strawberries, blood orange oils & bitter vermouth-y herbs. Enjoy while watching your fave low-budget WN (Women’s Network) romance novel turned two hour exposé on the importance of saying how you ReAlLy feel, accompanied by a myriad of tapenades.
