'Serraggia Onda' 2022
Syrah, Pantelleria, Sicily, Italy
A zero-zero rare jewel for the eccentric, more is more kinda archetype. Previously a well known architect in Milan, winemaker Gabrio Bini and his accomplished art director wife Geneviève are based on the island of Pantelleria, just off the coast of Sicily. From the foot of an ancient volcano, the terraced vineyards are home to caper bushes, citrus groves and old regional bush vines. Named after their faithful pooch, the seriously RARE ‘Onda’ 2022 is his second vintage of 100% meaty, herbaceous syrah that is aged for seven months in amphora buried in the vineyards. And if your antenna went up, YES syrah IS an unusual grape to find on the island, so get your bottle of this unique expression while you can. FUN FACTS! The iconic ARROW labels were designed by Geneviève, and only 600 bottles of ‘Onda’ were produced, of which we got six! Silken robes, weave of warm spice and green, scratchy herbs, scorched earth, salty volcanic minerality, lavender & boysenberry mush. Enjoy with a rustic chopped tartare, packed with the regions famous caper berries.
