A Cali-is-as-Cali-does kinda zero-zero solid syrah for those with high standards. Young Bay Area négociant Brent Mayeaux (aka Stagiaire) had been farming a few parcels of his own since 2018, before deciding in 2022 to focus his attention to winemaking and exclusively supporting local low-intervention farmers. FUN FACT! The project is named after the French word for apprentice, which to Brent encapsulates feelings of humility, impermanence, and the pursuit of knowledge. Made with organic syrah from Poor Ranch, the wine spends one year group-huddled in barrel before being bottled unfined, unfiltered and with NO sulphur additions. Sun-roasted blood oranges, tomato apple hybrid, dusty Willy Wonka wallpaper, wild boar hairbrush & cherries with cream. Pour alongside feverish nights out, you can sleep when you die!
